Percent rode = .001%

Just returned from a transit intensive trip to NYC with Smile43!. Although only 2 buses were rode, we got this nice pic of our crew on a articulated coach - the M103 on Madison Ave if memory serves me. . Also took the Q33 through Jackson Heights and spotted a nice base full of some old-looking tan coaches. Numerous subway lines, S.I. ferry and L.I. railroad were also utilized.

That is a good looking crew! Emotional advert, too. I'm curious, however, about your % rode calculation. If we guesstimate that there are 10,000 NYC coaches (#0-9999), and we rode 2 of them, wouldn't that make our Percent Rode 0.0002% instead? (i.e. 2/10,000)

Lets say there are actually 200,000 coaches and we rode 2/200,000 = .00001 = .001%
On second thought, I would guess there are more like 20,000 active coaches so I would go with .01% as my final answer.

Ah man, M*A*N! Hopefully my students won't see these POOR % calculations! However, in mathematical terms, I think we can agree that our % rode was a "very very small number."
